Refund / Rebooking Policy
Version 2.0 | Effective Date: May 7, 2026
This Refund / Rebooking Policy is part of the California Safe Driver Terms of Use and is incorporated by reference.
By enrolling in a course, you acknowledge and agree to this policy.
Cancellation and Rebooking Requests
Students may request cancellation of a live instructor-led course enrollment up to twenty (20) days before the scheduled class date.
If approved, tuition paid may be converted into a non-refundable account credit that may be applied toward a future California Safe Driver class.
Credits:
- Must be used within one (1) year of the original class date
- Are non-transferable
- Have no cash value
- Expire if unused
To request a rebooking, students may log in to their account and manage their enrollment through the student portal or contact the administrative office for assistance.
Enrollment into a replacement class remains subject to class availability and applicable scheduling deadlines.
Students may not self-enroll in classes scheduled within fourteen (14) days without administrative approval.
Refund Policy
Tuition and fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where California Safe Driver approves a documented discretionary exception.
Enrollment reserves limited class space, instructor time, administrative resources, and course materials.
Once enrollment is processed, California Safe Driver may begin scheduling, staffing, shipping, administrative preparation, and other fulfillment activities associated with the course.
Refunds are generally not provided for:
- Missed classes
- Late arrival
- Failure to complete class requirements
- Internet connectivity issues
- Failure to follow course rules or instructor directions
- Removal for misconduct or disruptive behavior
- Scheduling conflicts
- Incorrect registration information submitted by the student
- Failure to confirm acceptance requirements with a court, employer, probation department, or other referring entity
Students are responsible for ensuring they have reliable internet access, compatible devices, working audio and video capability, and the ability to participate in live online instruction before class begins. Mobile phone participation may be limited or prohibited in certain live courses, as reasonably necessary to support course participation, identity verification, instructional integrity, or course administration.
Self-paced course purchases are non-refundable once course access credentials or course availability have been issued.
Rebooking Exceptions
In limited documented circumstances, California Safe Driver may approve rebooking into a future class.
Rebooking requests may require:
- Written explanation and supporting documentation
- Submission within seven (7) business days of the missed class
- Payment of a rebooking fee intended to offset administrative, staffing, and material costs associated with the missed enrollment
- Availability in a future class
Examples of circumstances that may be considered include:
- Documented illness
- Family emergency
- Natural disaster
- Widespread electrical outage
- Comparable unforeseen hardship
Rebooking accommodations are discretionary, case-specific, non-transferable, and do not create precedent or continuing obligations for future requests.
Workbook, Materials, and Certificate Replacement
Certain courses require physical workbooks and physical certificates of completion.
Certificates of completion:
- Are mailed physically and are not delivered electronically
- May require reasonable processing and mailing time following successful course completion
- Delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed
- Are subject to delays caused by USPS or other shipping carriers beyond California Safe Driver's reasonable control
- May contain security features or anti-copy protections, including paper designed to display "VOID" or similar markings when copied or reproduced
Replacement certificates, replacement workbooks, or reshipment requests may require:
- Identity verification
- Payment of applicable replacement or shipping fees
- Updated mailing information
California Safe Driver reserves the right to deny replacement requests where misuse, alteration, fraud, or unauthorized duplication is suspected.
If California Safe Driver Cancels a Class
If California Safe Driver cancels a scheduled class and does not provide a reasonable alternative course option, students may be offered one of the following:
- Transfer to another available class
- Account credit toward a future class
- Refund of tuition paid for the canceled class
Force Majeure
California Safe Driver is not responsible for delays, interruptions, rescheduling, or inability to perform caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to internet outages, power failures, severe weather, natural disasters, public health emergencies, shipping carrier disruptions, third-party platform outages, or governmental actions.
